Madeira has been called the Hawaii of Europe and with good reason. The nature is absolutely stunning and it’s very diverse. It’s a true paradise for the adventurous and hikers! ✨

Here are a few tips for a trip to the countryside of Madeira:
⏱️ Best time to visit: from April to October, with May and June or September and October offering ideal weather, fewer crowds, and lush scenery.
🚗 Rent a car to see the best spots. Otherwise it will be hard to see all the places. Know that it’s very steep to drive here.
🧥 Bring a raincoat as the chance of rain is high. Be prepared for the unexpected
💶 You can easily pay with your card everywhere you go

Iceland is home to some stunning nature, and some majestic waterfalls as well! There are so many around the island that it can be a bit overwhelming to choose the right ones🌊✨🌿⛰️

So here is a list of the absolute best to visit:

1️⃣ Múlagljúfur
🚗 doable to drive here without a 4x4, but the road isn’t the best. It’s a paid parking
🥾 it’s a 7.1 km hike one way and back with 350 meters elevation

2️⃣ Skogafoss
🚗 paid parking, but closely located to the waterfall
🥾 requires no hiking, but you can make it longer by hiking up the waterfall

3️⃣ Kvernufoss
🚗 this waterfall is only a 5 minute drive away from Skogafoss, so you can walk from there or park at the museum closely located to the waterfall
🥾 only a 1.5 km hike one way and back and relatively flat

4️⃣ Bruarfoss
🚗 paid parking near the waterfall. Be aware that the road can be in a bad state, but it’s doable without a 4x4
🥾 only a short hike from the parking

5️⃣ Sigöldugljúfur
🚗 small parking next to the F208 road, but this is only accessible with a 4x4. Otherwise you can’t reach this waterfall!
🥾 only 2 km hike from the F208 road to the waterfall

Only 2 hours away from Prague lies this beautiful region in the western side of the country, including the biggest spa region!

As I loved this region so much, here is an itinerary for you!

Day 1️⃣

🚲 Start your day with biking from Karlovy Vary to Loket on the 15 km bike ride
🍻 While arriving in Loket, have lunch at the St Florian Brewery
🏰 Wander around Loket and see the castle from the inside
🚲 Take your bike back to Karlovy Vary

Day 2️⃣

💭 Learn more about the region at the Royal Mint Museum
⛏️After learning about mining, visit one at the Mauritius Mine
🍺 Have a delicious lunch at Červený Vlk brewery
🥾 Start your hike at the Boží Dar Peat Bog Nature Trail right after lunch

Day 3️⃣

🧖‍♀️ Wander around Karlovy Vary, the biggest spa town, with a Spa Town Tour
🍴 Have lunch at the Diana Restaurant after visiting the Diana Lookout Tower
🏘️ Visit Marianske Lazne, the second biggest spa town

After all this exploring, you could relax every evening at the spa in the Thermal Spa hotel in Karlovy Vary or Hotel Hvezda in Marienske Lazne! 🧖‍♀️
