Our camera gear
Mel and I bought a lot of photography equipment over the course of a few years, so we have quite the assortment. But keep in mind that price isn’t everything in the photography world. It’s way more important to know how to use it, than to buy an expensive camera you can’t work with. We also have a few different lenses as we both like to take all different kind of photographs, like landscape and portraits. The list below is what we owe and use the most while being on a trip!
As you can see, we both have a love for Sony’s. I own the Sony A7 III and Mel owns the other two camera’s. Since Mel is also a freelancer who makes videos, he needs a camera that focuses more on video. The sony a7s iii is perfect for that. The other camera, the sony A7 IV, Mel won at the summer 2022 competition of Sony itself! He won with the first place, which is a real honor! You can read about this whole experience here.
We have a few camera lenses in our camera backpack that we just can’t miss! Our range is from wide all the way to zoomed in. It’s perfect that we have it covered from 16 mm to 200 mm. so that we don’t miss out on anything while being on a trip. My all time favorite lens is the one with a focal range of 24 – 70 mm, because it covers a wide angle for landscapes aswell as zooming in which is more perfect for portraits.
Almost all of our drone pictures are taken by Mel. He has been flying the drone since 2018 so he’s really experienced with it! He uses the Mavic Pro 2 for a few years now, but one day he will probably upgrade to a newer version. Till this day, it’s still a really good drone! As for me, I decided in 2022 that I wanted to try done flying aswell. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money, because for me, it’s more for fun. That’s why the Mini 2 is a great option for me! I’m really happy with it, but I need to use it a lot more!
